Ultrasound is a fantastic tool within physical therapy for proper diagnosis, but certainly also for monitoring progress in recovery.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound can be used to properly assess muscles and tendons, among other things. We therefore use it as an addition to our physical therapy examination. In this way we can see if there is damage to the muscle or tendon, but we can also assess whether there is an inflammatory process or even calcification. Because of this deepening of our examination, we are even better able to choose the right treatment strategy. Should it appear after our examination that you need to be referred to your general practitioner or a medical specialist, we can give you the report of the ultrasound examination.

Why Ultrasound?

Previously, we as physical therapists could assess your complaint primarily through targeted tests. This of course gives a good picture of the complaint, but sometimes a diagnosis was not very sharp. Simply because we could not look inside the body. Now ultrasound allows us to assess muscles, tendons and, for example, a bursa much better. This ensures that the diagnosis can be made even better, so the effect of the treatment program will also be even better.

Research and treatment

Ultrasound is used only when there is a real indication for it. The physiotherapist will decide if ultrasound has an added value for your specific complaint. Sometimes the ultrasound can already be made during the first examination, but it could also be that you have to come back for this again. During the examination it will be explained to you directly on the screen what was found. During the treatment process it is possible that an ultrasound will be made more often, to assess the progress of the recovery.

Cost

Ultrasound is used as part of the examination and total treatment. The ultrasound examination is therefore covered by your supplementary insurance for physical therapy. Do you have no supplementary insurance? Then we apply the following rates.
