Neck pain and headaches can limit you greatly in your daily life. You would like quick relief from these symptoms in order to function better at work and in daily life.

The accompanying symptoms of neck pain

Neck pain can occur gradually or all at once. Pain in the neck is often nagging but can sometimes have a stabbing character. When pain is severe, certain movements can no longer be performed properly. The pain can also radiate to the head, shoulder or arm and sometimes even to the fingers. This can be very hindering in daily life. Fortunately, physio can relieve neck pain and promote the recovery process.

Causes of pain in the neck

Pain in the neck can have several causes. Often it comes from sitting in the same position for a long time, for example at the computer or with your cell phone. The symptoms then slowly set in and get progressively worse. Sometimes the neck pain also causes headaches.

In some cases, it can suddenly shoot into your neck. We then call this acute neck pain, and if your head is tilted in the process, we call it acute torticollis.

Treatment usually consists of mobilizing, and possibly manipulating, the spine, relaxing the surrounding muscles and giving posture and loading advice.

Physio for neck pain

Recovery from neck pain can vary in length of time. This depends not only on the severity of the physical complaint but also on your own ability to recover. This recovery capacity can be reduced by stress. In times of stress, your body no longer recovers well from the load placed on it. As a result, a normal load can suddenly become an overload. This then manifests itself in the form of neck pain. With physio for neck pain you can support the recovery process and prevent the symptoms from returning later. During treatment you will be informed and given advice for your situation. You will learn, among other things, how to adopt a good posture, how to relax, how to strengthen the right muscles and how to keep yourself flexible.
