The geriatric physical therapist is a specialist in providing guidance and rehabilitation for problems that arise during aging.

Geriatric Physiotherapy

As we age, exercise sometimes becomes more difficult. While sufficient exercise is vital for maintaining all kinds of body functions. The geriatric physical therapist can help you suffer less from the effects of aging.

Why the Geriatric Physical Therapist?

Geriatric physical therapy helps aging people age as vitally as possible. For example, do you have problems with daily activities such as walking, getting up from a chair or climbing stairs? Are you afraid of falling or have you even fallen recently? Do you experience limitations after a stroke, with dementia or other health conditions related to aging? Then the geriatric physical therapist is the right physical therapist for you.

Research and treatment

Through a comprehensive personal interview and functional testing, we will determine where the geriatric physical therapist can help you. A personal treatment plan is then drawn up.

Through training and active exercise therapy, you improve your muscle strength, balance and gait, aimed at regaining mobility and independence. Or you learn to cope with the loss of this. In addition, family members and any informal caregivers are advised and guided.
