Even during my high school years, I discovered that I was interested in the functioning of the human body. So choosing to become a physical therapist was a logical choice.
What I enjoy most about my work is the contact with the people in the practice and finding the right treatment for their complaint. The latter is always a challenge, because every person and therefore every complaint is different.
Over the years, my interest has increasingly focused on complaints of the spine. This often involves neck and back complaints, but also complaints of the arms or legs, which are caused from the spine. In 2011 I graduated as a Master Manual Therapist. This training allows me to look at the (dys)functioning of the spine with a keen eye.
After my training as a manual therapist, I went further into the treatment of headache complaints and am now qualified to treat with dry needling. The combination of treating joints (manual) and muscles (dry needling) is also very valuable in headache complaints.
